5 Tips For Turning Passion Into Profit.

Is your New Year’s resolution to start a business? Is your dream to be your own boss? Do you have a passion you’d love to turn into profit?

If so, do you know your next step? After all, a resolution isn’t much without implementation. And deciding to start a business is one of the biggest resolutions out there.

After working with countless entrepreneurs over the years, there are some essential lessons I’ve learned from some of the most successful small business leaders out there.

1.  It’s not just about you
You’ve heard the saying, "Do what you love and the money will follow." That’s not exactly the case. Yes, passion is important. But in order to turn your passion into a profitable business, you’ve got to fill a need that others are looking for. Think about this for a moment. The market isn’t necessarily concerned if you are fulfilling a lifelong dream. Customers spend money on products and services that fulfill their needs or their own desires. Focus on how your passion can make a difference to others-- that’s the key to success.

2. Focus on your end goal, and not the obstacle
Too often people don’t execute on their ideas of fear - fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of what others will say. If you have a great idea (even a good idea), then make it happen. Don’t be afraid of how it will all turn out. Just execute. In business, like in life, there are valuable lessons to be learned in each failure. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.” Still not convinced? Think of it this way: by never trying, you’ve failed right from the start.

3.  Balance your "Day Job"
If you currently have a full-time or part-time job, it can be a smart idea to continue working while you get started on your new business. Many administrative and planning tasks - such as writing up a business plan, picking a business and domain name, getting your logo, website and all marketing materials in place - can all be done before you leave your day job. While this plan may make for some very busy months, you’ll benefit from beginning your business from a position of strength.

4.  Start small – get creative for funding
If you don’t have access to tons of capital, you probably shouldn’t consider launching a manufacturing company with lots of overhead and expensive product inventory. However, it’s more than possible to start a business with just a small investment - for example, service-based businesses or virtual ones (like blogging or freelance editing). Be realistic about your financing, and remember it’s okay to start small! Look for creative ways to fund your business, such as working out of your home, bartering with vendors, and leveraging social media for your marketing.

5.  Surround yourself with support
The journey of turning your idea into reality can be long and difficult. Stay motivated by surrounding yourself with positive people who believe in your vision. In some cases, this could be family or friends who will remind you of your potential when times are tough. You can also join a formal networking or entrepreneur group that meets on a weekly or monthly basis. Participating in a professional group gives you a chance to see and learn from the success of other entrepreneurs, share business models, and success secrets.

Most importantly, don’t forget to celebrate each accomplishment, no matter how small. As a small business owner, you’ve got an exiting journey ahead of you; don’t forget to enjoy the ride!

Time to throw away English language from Malaysia

Hohoho. This statement will certainly anger many Malaysians, especially those who read English language and are from the middle class.

Sudah sampai masa mengbuangkan bahasa Inggeris jauh dari Malaysia. Kita sudah merdeka tapi fikiran tidak merdeka dari jajahan British lagi.

There are more than 75% of people in the world do not speak a word of English. From BBC, the world strong radio of British which is called British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). Read No 6.

Therefore, the old timers in Malaysia are still cliching on the lap of the former colonial master. Promoting the use of English without knowing English would soon a language of only the bangsa.

What would happen to the youngsters who learn English and cannot use it ? Just like those study Latin in the university or at home and cannot use it. Aha, they can use it for fun.

But Malaysia is not a rich country, she is, in fact, just mismangement of fund if not to say it is abused of fund.

Thus, are Malaysians awaken now ?

They, so called the English speakers made a website to shame the people.  Can someone tell those people, it is not a shame for me to write incorrect English language. English is not my mother tongue, it would be a shame for the English mother tongue speakers, but not me, or us in Malaysia.

The parents who see the page  would force the children to study harder to better the English language. More money are spent and more time are wasted.

Do you know that if insufficient exercise on the field, like playing ball games etc would cause depression in adults ?The Australian research will be soon out.

Do you want your child to suffer depression when he/she is an adult ?

Like this rule American is disgusting the people, therefore, you are supporting American English, you will be ended up disgusted too.
Can your children write a book and see in the world ? Your book cannot be sold in the English speaking world because you are from Malaysia unless you forgo your mother tongue.

Can your songs be able to sell in America ?

Can your film be sold in Britian?

The list goes on and on.

How many talents are killed by English language ?

How much money are wasted in learning English language ?

How much time are wasted in learning English language ? Time is money.

But I like this BBC comedy. Yes, we must do this one day.

Learn to be Humble At All Times

Learn to be Humble At All Times

“Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.” - Anton Chekhov

Talent is God given. Be humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful.” - John Wooden

Let's take a look at this story that illustrate this point:
The Professor and the Oarsman

One day, a professor was conducting a study at sea. He went out to sea in a 'sampan' with an oarsman. The oarsman job is to row the 'sampan'. The oarsman was an old and quiet man. This was fine with the professor as he did not want any disturbance while he did his work.

For many hours, the professor examined water specimens from the sea and wrote down notes in his book. The oarsman looked up to the sky and thought to himself, "Hmm... It looks like it's going to rain". Finally, when the professor had completed his work, he said, "Okay, let's get back to the shore". Only during the journey back did the professor speak to the oarsman.

"How long have you been rowing boats?" asked the professor. "Almost all my life", replied the oarsman. "Your whole life? So you don't know anything else besides rowing boats?" asked the professor. The oarsman just shook his head from side to side.

"Do you know geography?" asked the professor. The oarsman shook his head quietly. "In that case, you have lost 25 percent of your life,"said the professor.

"Do you know biology?" The oarsman shook his head. "You poor soul. You have lost 50 percent of your life.

Do you know physics?" Again, the oarsman simply shook his head. "How pitiful, you have lost 75 percent of your life then, you are so unfortunate; you don't know anything. You have wasted your whole life just rowing boats," said the professor arrogantly. The oarsman just kept quiet.

A few minutes later, it started to rain. Suddenly a huge wave swept the 'sampan' and overturned it. The professor and the oarsman were thrown into the sea.

Now, the oarsman asked the professor, "By the way, do you know how to swim?". The professor shook his head. "In that case, you have lost 100 percent of your life!!," cried the oarsman as he swam to the shore.

The moral of this story is:

It is no use having a high I.Q. or intelligence, if you do not know the more important things in life.

Someone may seem stupid in something that has nothing to do with his career or life. But he is a master in his line of work. So, do not look down on others just because they seem ignorant or stupid, because they may in fact be more successful than us.

“The more a person analyzes his inner self, the more insignificant he seems to himself. This is the first lesson of wisdom. Let us be humble, and we will become wise. Let us know our weakness, and it will give us power.” - William Ellery Channing

Let's acknowledge each individual person is very important. Each person has tremendous potential! Do you agree?
